ABC: How many people do you employ? CD: We have about 16 employees here and probably about eight interns. We have people that are admin and work the front desk, then we have audio engineers, so we either have tracking engineers, mixing engineers or master engineers and then we have management. We only have three positions. ABC: Why is Patchwerk still relevant 20 years after opening? We also have a tangible product that is different than what everybody else is delivering.
WE just really do what we say we are going to do and we do it at an affordable price. If you do stuff here, you never have to do it over again.
When they come here, they know everything we offer is top notch. We pride ourselves in looking up and seeing all the lights working. We have our core values. We do the right thing, we do what we say we are going to do and we over produce what people expect from us.
We run this place like an artist. An artist does street promotions, an artist does events outside the studio, and an artist does concerts. We offer additional services that our clients actually need.
The only thing we do at Patchwerk Studio is whatever our clients need. We only add services when our clients demand that they need those services. We literally support our clients. We go to their shows, we buy their products. They are literally clients, not just customers that come in and pay. We have people working the phone lines that are here to support you and we will help you through the whole project.
They start here. With Jeezy, he did everything here. The first two or three were recorded here. This was his house. All of them. Think of it as a house. You need a good foundation. He can go to the Fox Theatre, pull up his old stuff and play it and it will sound just as good as the stuff that other people did. Stuff that we did 10 years ago is on point and these albums are coming around.
We worked on all of these projects and they sound great. We did our job. We did that here. ABC: What do you offer at Patchwerk? CD: We have five studios. Like I always tell people, there are two main rooms. They both have consoles. Studio and Studio They have SSL consoles. A lot of studios that come up now, basically just have a computer.
So our two main rooms have consoles. Our vocal suite, Studio , is just set up to do vocals and then we got a production room that people can go in and make beats. Then we got our mastering room. Then once you got that done, you can go to one of the bigger rooms and get it mixed. We have a different professional providing each service. We literally have a professional at every level working on it. We have a whole team of people and work on projects together.
If somebody misses something, 10 times out of 10, we are going to catch it before the client catches it because another engineer is going to hear it. ABC: Does a record label financially back the studio? They feel like that place belongs to somebody. A hotel belongs to everybody. Nobody wants to work like that. We were one of the first just straight up studios.

Futhermore, Studio features 3 isolated recording booths, a dedicated drum room, spacious lounge, and a kitchen.
